An outline of the legislation and heart breaking Impact Statements from a number of women, about the reality of the poverty that so many women, and their partners where present, encountered as a result, in the newly created 6 year vacuum. An additional six years added to retirement age with no reimbursement of monies paid into the system.  Most of the women were either retired, close to retirement, or were unemployed and caring for others. For those who lived abroad, and were looking forward to receiving their state pension from the UK, now found themselves having to use savings to survive, much like their UK counterparts, and with the added expense of having to pay for all health care within their country of residence. The legal case is still ongoing in 2020.
