SGUK Ep 145 2nd Feb
International Law Needs to Join The Chat part Two of Two
Today we will go into more detail about what I have in my mind, and how listeners to this podcast, and any of the Sussex Supporters out there can help to raise interest in forming an alliance with others, with the intention of forming a Task Force. A global based group of affluent and powerful people, who come together via various forms of media, and really dig deep about the content and intentionality of those who are using their power due to affluence, along with the influence that brings for the benefit of themselves. It is happening in to many places in the world, and all of them involving themselves into politics, with very limited information or interest in how political leaders in democracies function. The pathway carved over time, is the complete opposite of democracy, where only a handful of people decide on the quality of life of the majority of the country, with no real options of escaping from such an environment. Various modes of abuse of the people of those nations occur over time.
I am not looking for miracles, but where the seeds of such behaviour is occurring we all have a responsibility to notice the dangers and try to do something that is going to make a positive difference. I would like to add here, as someone who was born in the UK and currently still resides here, I include the UK for the direction of travel its politicians are moving in from all parties, and the people of the UK are not the ones who are going to reap the benefits.
Since the Brexit vote, the UK has taken a turn to walk along a dark path. Some members of Societal Group One, are using their power and influence to harass, stalk and bully its citizens – some more than others. There are also examples where this has been done to the point that some people are no longer with us – for a variety of reasons. Now some elements of societal group one, have taken it upon themselves to try and control people who have left the Uk and now live on another continent.
The time has come to bring in a number of counter balances. Power and influence can be used in a philanthropic way, whereby a wide number of people can benefit. Communities also improve as a result. Lifting people up instead of treading on them in the hope that will become compliant to the wishes of the affluent and powerful who use their power and influence for their own benefit (who by the way have limited competencies) but have succeeded in life in the main because of wealth which brought along power.
Things can change. Situation can have balance. Affluence and Power can do so much to uplift others. A Modern Day Task Force is very possible, and in my mind, a vast number of similar Task Forces can be formed – all with measurable outcomes and Action Plans and Business Plans spanning time spans to suit the group/s in question.
There are groups of professionals out there, where too many have forgotten their core purpose. Time to contribute to society in a better and more tangible way. Time for the rich and powerful to step up to the plate, and to set up real tangible measurable methodologies which will help more than the oligarch private clubs around the world.
Task Force and What It Could Achieve
I am advocating for a Task Force to come together from various parts of the world to look at how online abuse as well as face to face abuse is becoming more toxic and those who appear to be immune and free from critique are people who have power and influence. pretty much like the tech oligarchs hovering around the new President of the USA and actions related to how finances are split and how taxation is applied to working people is biased and in favour of those with most wealth being charged less. This is happening around the world in increasing numbers of countries. it is as though those in societal one are immune from critique in a wide range of things. eg treatment of deportation of illegal immigrants is heavily biased to those who are POC. Removal of or absence of Human Rights are applied in the same playbook.
I would like to see a Task Force voluntarily come together to discuss and move into a credible Action Plan with measurable outcomes. This Task Force would need to include but also look at the number of Human Rights organisations who in all honesty I don’t see measurable outcomes. I see documents produced and updated but I don’t really know what any of them are doing. some on very high salaries. I would like to see newly qualified legal advocates in Human Rights be part of such a Task Force. If I was in their position I would be eager to bring fresh ideas to the table. A newly qualified advocate in Human Rights could really make a name for themselves by putting forward new ways of doing things eg how they gather data and why they have the list of subject areas etc. Those legal professionals who have been in the role for decades, have become too comfortable. ‘New Kids on the Block’ being part of a new Research Task Force would give some a real good wake up call. I would also like to see alongside the affluent and powerful people, representatives from community based advocates who work with children and adult organisations who have been in the receiving end of abuse including harassment and stalking and all of which come under the heading of Coercive Control by a person and/or group targeting certain individuals/groups around the globe. eg indigenous people and their land. People the media see is weak and pursue them to create drama and make money from being a Hate for Hire abuser. This is why the majority of the Task Force need to be equally affluent and powerful like the current tech oligarchs pulling the strings of certain politicians around the world.
Create a Comprehensive Terms of Reference and Action Plan by and for the Global Task Force
Creating a comprehensive Terms of Reference (ToR) and Action Plan for a Global Task Force focusing on issues related to online abuse, face-to-face abuse, human rights violations, and socio-economic inequities would require consideration of various interdisciplinary factors. Here is a draft outline:
Terms of Reference (ToR)

– Representatives from community-based advocacy groups.
– Affluent and influential individuals who are committed to ethical practices.
– Experts in technology, sociology, and international law.

– Regular quarterly meetings, with additional meetings as necessary.
- Decision-Making:
– Consensus-based decision-making model.
– Establish sub-committees for specific focus areas.
Outline Action Plan
- Establishment Phase:
– Identify and invite potential Task Force members.
– Set up initial meetings to define roles and priorities.
– Secure funding and resources for operation.
- Research and Data Collection:
– Gather data on abuses, human rights violations, and socio-economic disparities.
– Identify best practices and successful interventions globally.
- Strategic Planning:
– Develop specific strategies and initiatives to tackle identified issues.
– Create a timeline for the implementation of each strategy.
- Implementation:
– Begin implementing selected strategies.
– Engage with various stakeholders to advocate for reform.
– Launch awareness campaigns to educate the public.
Business Plan
- Aims and Objectives:
– Establish the Task Force as a leading ethical voice in global advocacy.
– Achieve specific milestones related to reducing abuse and promoting human rights.
- Financial Plan:
– Outline funding sources (grants, donations, partnerships).
– Budget allocation for research, advocacy, and operational expenses.
- Measurable Outcomes:

– Publish an annual report detailing progress and future plans.
By creating such a comprehensive framework, the Task Force can position itself as a pivotal player in promoting justice, equality, and accountability on a global scale. The emphasis on measurable outcomes and ethical practices will help ensure its effectiveness and sustainability.
Topics that a Working Group/Task Force could consider and discuss in the ‘Zoom’ like meetings
- Ethical Journalism Standards: – Highlight the principles of ethical journalism, such as accuracy, fairness, and the responsibility to minimize harm. – Differentiate between legitimate investigative journalism and practices that constitute harassment or bullying. 2. Impact on Mental Health: – Discuss the psychological toll on individuals who are targeted by relentless negative media coverage. – Include statistics or case studies that illustrate the connection between media practices and mental health issues, such as anxiety, depression, or even suicide.
- Case Studies: – Provide examples of public figures who have been adversely affected by media pressure. – Discuss the outcomes for these individuals, including any legal victories or ongoing struggles with mental health.
- Responsibility of Media Outlets: – Consider the role and accountability of media outlets in how they report news and the effects it might have. – Discuss regulations or guidelines that exist to govern media practices to protect individuals’ rights.
- Calls for Change: – Present any current movements or advocacy efforts aimed at reforming media practices to better protect individuals. – Include suggestions for how media outlets, regulatory bodies, and audiences can contribute to more ethical practices.
- Legal and Social Solutions: – Explore potential legal reforms needed to better address these issues. – Encourage social responsibility among audiences, emphasizing critical consumption of media content and the importance of empathy towards those targeted.
People with money and influence need to examine their conscience and should ask themselves whether or not the scales of justice need to have the rust removed and a good polish. If someone with means cannot receive assistance from the legal system, then what can the ordinary man or woman in the street hope to receive. Time for people of influence and the financial means to make a difference, to come together and bring this abusive behaviour and loss of lives to an end.
Time for a Multi National Task Force to be formed and to come together – electronically in a variety of formats. Such a group could contribute to broader awareness and advocacy for change. By continuing to highlight the real world impacts and advocating for ethical practices, positive change is possible, which could eventually prevent tragic outcomes related to media induced stress.
Please forward the link to this video podcast to as many of the prominent figures, who are affluent and powerful and who you believe could contribute to this International Task Force. If any wish to have further information, please ask them to email me for any further information they require.
Viola Davis and Julius Tennon Tyler Perry Ronan Farrow Laura Richards (laura@laurarichards.co.uk) Responsible Technology Youth Power Fund Winners 2023. Innovative specialists re online hate to children and advocates for safe technology. All 26 groups are active on the USA political landscape, as well as being part of international groups. Any/all of them would be excellent in such a Task Force mentioned in this podcast. There is a new cohort of winners of grants . All received grants from philanthropic organisations including the Archewell Foundation. Here is a link for more information on the groups:- https://www.rtyouthpower.org/2023cohort
NB I need to add another section here, where i can list website or emails for some of the people who i think would be useful to contact to see if they are interested in being part of a new Global Task Force. I have had not time to search for contact addresses, but i will endeavour to do so by the weekend, and will post a comment to let you all know that there will be a list on a slide at the end of this article by the weekend.
Please note if the usual group of people send any of their usual hateful communication content to the email address, (it will join all the others, whose names will be put in lights one day) and real names are easily extracted regardless of what User Name you post on the SGUK YouTube account or in any emails you send.
Coercive Control is the Umbrella heading of all the abusive activities that have been used against mainly women in the discussion on the SGUK network. Online technology has encouraged abuse to be targeted to adults and children in any part of the world, regardless where the location of the abuser is based. The Duchess of Sussex is a high profile figure and discussions around the activity of groups/individuals in Societal Group One could bring attention to this area of abuse and the pyramid of activity below top tier. Amendments and discussions on current law could help people around the world who do not have the resources to challenge the system or get redress.
It would be good to have a few Elected Officials on board if possible. Please approach anyone who you believe could contribute to such a group. The email for you all to pass on to the people you contact, if they wish to know more, is as follows:- adminibm@ivybarrow.org along with the link to this video podcast. Thank you. PS There is no requirement for anyone to contact me. The idea is that those who come together will decide for themselves what tasks are done when and why etc. I have merely put a few notes in these last few podcasts and articles, to help with suggestions if anyone on the Task Force, or who is thinking of joining or starting one.
Addressing this issue comprehensively would likely require a combination of legal, social, and personal strategies. It’s advisable for the affected individual or their representatives to consult legal experts with international experience to explore actionable paths for redress. Additionally, maintaining a strong support network and mental health support can be crucial for coping with such sustained public attacks. NB/ Not everyone has access to or can afford legal services. Those who can afford such services, are overdue to step up to the plate and join forces with similar fortunate people, and form an international Task Force, who can put pressure on International Legal Entities to take on those who are always behind the Hate for Hire business, and who use minions in the media industry to be the cannon fodder in the warfare. The media fodder think they are brown nosing with the elite – they are going to find out that those who own corporations rarely go behind bars. Those that fire metaphorical bullets in print or facing a camera will one day discover that institutions are protected not the cannon fodder.
The issue highlighted reflects significant ethical concerns in media practices, especially when the pressures exerted on individuals can lead to severe mental health consequences. It’s crucial to differentiate between responsible journalism and what borders on harassment. Here are a few points you might want to consider when you are thinking of who to approach regarding an online Task Force group who believe that they can trigger change in some way.
